Sad goodbye

Well, yesterday we said a sad goodbye to our first goat, the myotonic one,Goeffrey. He has been sick for about 2 weeks and although we thought he was getting better he took a turn for the worst.
It was a learning experience in goat behavior as we watched the other 3 goats during Geoffrey's illness. They were very concerned and "checked on him" often. Yesterday after he was gone they were looking for him and even looked at the place where he was laying down and died.
H is doing very well considering he was her b-day present a few years back. She has been stronger then A and myself. Yesterday was definitely one of those days I hated being the grown up in having to make the decisions about the goat.

School Days

What do you do when you still have to get math done but you SOO want to be outside and enjoy the beautiful weather? You compromise. This is win win for teacher and pupil.

A glimpse of the future

We are currently doing a unit study on George Washington Carver and learning so much. Today my dear child filled out an application for Tuskegee University. As I sat there helping her with the questions and in filling in the blanks I got a little sad. She seems to be growing up so fast. Then again maybe not so fast as when we filled in her anticipated date of enrollment to the school as 2018. How innocent she was when she read the $25 application fee and said,"Well, no one said college was free."

Quitting Time

We had a beautiful sunset last night but unfortunately I could only get the picture from the car. When I pulled up the picture I noticed the traffic of an ending weekday

Family intro

Well now to tell you a bit about us...
Dad(A. Champion) is an Electronic Technician who currently refurbishes and repairs copy machines, faxes as well as networks these devices to computers.
Mom( D.) is a part time bus driver.
Daughter(H. ) is an 9 year old fourth grader who is moms assistant on the bus and all around helper.
We are a Catholic homeschool family and we live in south central Texas.
We are close to both of our families so our visits are not limited to holidays and special occasions. We have 6 dogs (a Schnauzer Mix, a Border Collie, 2 Boston Terriers and 2 Black Labs)3 cats and 4 goats( 3 Nubian Mix and a Pygmy Myotonic Goat).
Outside of our animals we enjoy many activities, specifically those that we can do together as a family.
Well, there you go. There is our intro.
