The Climber

She was not a climber as a baby/toddler...I guess she is making up for it now. (My heart still ponuds when I see this.)

What do you call a redneck jack-in-the-box??

a kitten-in-the-pot...

My baby??

Well since the last post H has turned 10...double digits...tween. While she was excited I am not

sure I was as excited as her. I do not think that will change. I have always had a hard time with growing up and I now realize it doesn't matter if it is me or my precious child it is still hard.

Growing up blues...for mom

Well, today I took the step of putting my dear daughters outgrown bikes and sandbox out by the road to offer for free. As I finished putting the sign up she came riding her "big girl" bike asking why I was taking a picture.
She is counting down the days in excitement for her birthday to get here while I am counting down the days in remembrance of my little girl...who is not so little anymore.

Sad goodbye

Well, yesterday we said a sad goodbye to our first goat, the myotonic one,Goeffrey. He has been sick for about 2 weeks and although we thought he was getting better he took a turn for the worst.
It was a learning experience in goat behavior as we watched the other 3 goats during Geoffrey's illness. They were very concerned and "checked on him" often. Yesterday after he was gone they were looking for him and even looked at the place where he was laying down and died.
H is doing very well considering he was her b-day present a few years back. She has been stronger then A and myself. Yesterday was definitely one of those days I hated being the grown up in having to make the decisions about the goat.

School Days

What do you do when you still have to get math done but you SOO want to be outside and enjoy the beautiful weather? You compromise. This is win win for teacher and pupil.

A glimpse of the future

We are currently doing a unit study on George Washington Carver and learning so much. Today my dear child filled out an application for Tuskegee University. As I sat there helping her with the questions and in filling in the blanks I got a little sad. She seems to be growing up so fast. Then again maybe not so fast as when we filled in her anticipated date of enrollment to the school as 2018. How innocent she was when she read the $25 application fee and said,"Well, no one said college was free."

Quitting Time

We had a beautiful sunset last night but unfortunately I could only get the picture from the car. When I pulled up the picture I noticed the traffic of an ending weekday

Family intro

Well now to tell you a bit about us...
Dad(A. Champion) is an Electronic Technician who currently refurbishes and repairs copy machines, faxes as well as networks these devices to computers.
Mom( D.) is a part time bus driver.
Daughter(H. ) is an 9 year old fourth grader who is moms assistant on the bus and all around helper.
We are a Catholic homeschool family and we live in south central Texas.
We are close to both of our families so our visits are not limited to holidays and special occasions. We have 6 dogs (a Schnauzer Mix, a Border Collie, 2 Boston Terriers and 2 Black Labs)3 cats and 4 goats( 3 Nubian Mix and a Pygmy Myotonic Goat).
Outside of our animals we enjoy many activities, specifically those that we can do together as a family.
Well, there you go. There is our intro.

Our New Year

Well here it is the last week of January and the first time I have had the chance to update this blog. I really wonder if I will ever get the hang of doing this on a regular basis.

I did not send out our annual holiday letter this year, for the first time in our 18 years. Where did my time go? I do not know if it was a matter of not having the time or not making the time. Well either way it will keep til next year.

For Christmas I got a digital camera and I have been making good use of it, so there will be more pictures added to here as well. I have so enjoyed having it to take pictures of the sunrise...

and of course of our precious child enjoying life as she should...
More pictures will certainly follow so check back soon.
